Jessica Ampel, LMSW
ASSOCIATE THERAPIST
Jessica Ampel, LMSW, earned her Master’s Degree from University of Denver. Jessica believes in meeting clients where they are and helping them build the skills and connections they need to thrive. Drawing on her experience in both a middle school as well as a college counseling center setting, Jessica brings a relational, trauma-informed approach to working with adolescents, college students, and emerging adults, helping clients feel supported and well-equipped as they work toward their goals.
Jessica’s therapeutic approach is relational, action-oriented, and strengths-based. She prioritizes the therapeutic relationship and her clients' broader communities and interpersonal relationships, while emphasizing in-session skill building to strengthen clients’ abilities to cope and feel confident applying tools outside of session. She is trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Brainspotting and integrates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, relationship therapy, mindfulness, Polyvagal Theory, and reflective writing to support building emotional insight, regulation skills, and self-awareness/confidence. As a former collegiate athlete, Jessica is passionate about the mind-body connection, which she heavily emphasizes in therapy. Her athletic background also brings firsthand understanding into the pressures that come with high expectations—an insight Jessica uses to aid clients in managing stress, avoiding burnout, and building a healthier relationship with performance and achievement, either related to athletics or life in general.
When working with clients navigating anxiety, depression, perfectionism, relationship challenges, executive functioning concerns, LGBTQ+ identity exploration, life transitions, and transitions into and out of competitive athletics, Jessica collaborates with her clients to determine which therapeutic strategies best meet each client’s unique needs, goals, and preferences. Above all, Jessica hopes to create a warm, safe space where clients feel empowered to make lasting changes and ultimately achieve their goals.
Outside of the therapy room, Jessica enjoys reading, playing tennis, thrifting, cooking, trying new restaurants, and traveling.
